Gift for GF and she loves it

I bought this for the girlfriend for her birthday... no it was not a hint to her :)

I use the Oral-b Sonic and decided to try this for her since it had more interchangeable heads. She is a big oral hygiene nut and that is a plus. After two days she loved it and still loves it after about a month. Her only issue is that she feels inclined to brush four times twice a day since there are four types of tips that came with the brush.

Charge It!

In the comments above or below that state the battery dies after a while, you must realize that all rechargeable batteries (NiCd, NiMH, Li-ion, etc) last for approximately 1000 charge/discharge cycles. If you brush your teeth only once per day, you should expect the batteries to die in about 3 to 4 years. If you brush twice a day, the batteries will die sooner. That is the physical nature of rechargeable batteries.

The Best Tooth Brush

With little effort this tooth brush will clean your teeth
squeaky clean. Your tongue will feel the difference. I have been using this tooth brush for years and everytime
I visit the dentist for my semi-annual cleaning, the dental
assistant has very little to do in cleaning my teeth.

Great as ever.

I recently purchased this as a replacement for my orignal Sonicare brush which I've had for over ten years. The unit stopped working and I chose the same Sonicare Advance model as the the original one I had. The the new unit is made and works just as well as the old one. Also, much to my suprise the old one started working again so now I have a spare. I definitely love my Sonicare toothbrush and wouldn't be without one.

Battery Life of the Sonicare Advance Models

I want to respond to the fellow who said his brush is an expensive throwaway. I bought mine in 3/2000 and it JUST died on me -- that's six years of longevity. I had left it unplugged for several days, not realizing that the battery could be dying or dead. Right now I'm frantically searching for the exact same brush, and I'm having trouble because all I know of the model number is, it's an Advance series PS1. Well, my point is that I think the brushes are excellent, I think it's a quality product and I'm sorry he had such a bad experience.

Question : Are there any books/material to prepare for the admission test to the dental hygiene program?
I would like to know how difficult is the admission test for the dental hygiene program in ontario.

Answer:
Unlike dental school, law school, etc. there is no national entrance exam for dental hygiene. Admission is based mostly on GPA.

Question : What are some good Houston based institutions to get dental hygiene licensed without attending a university?
I want to recieve my dental hygiene license from an institution that allows me to do this a little faster than attending a college, are there any like this in houston besides montgomery county community college, they want me to take all of these biology pre-reqs, that will just waste my time.

Answer:
Universities do not offer dental hygiene programs. Check out community colleges, but be wary of trade schools. Before signing on with a trade school, ask to see records of how many of their graduates pass the state boards AND how many find jobs withing 90 days. Most dental schools operate a program for dental hygienists. Talk to you hygienist and ask where they went to school.

i have to write a paper on an occupation and i chose dental hygiene. I want a good introduction paragraph something different and original..

Question : Can you only get a degree in dental hygiene if?
My friend wants to get an associates degree in dental hygiene because she wants to be a dental hygienist. We looked but we only found bachelor degree programs for dental hygiene. She already has a degree in dental assisting and has a job doing so for like a year now actually... Is there no associates degree programs for dental hygiene or are there only bachelor degree programs?

Answer:
Most community colleges offer associates degrees, which is what your friend is looking for.

Question : what is the best route to take if i am interested in obtaining my bachelor's degree in dental hygiene?
I am currently attending community college to obtain my Associates degree, then i was going to apply to the dental hygiene program to obtain my certificate in dental hygiene, but i want to get my BA in dental hygiene as well. How would i go about obtaiining my BA in dental hygiene at a CSU if they dont have dental hygiene programs?

Answer:
Sorry, but you can't. You have to go to a school with a dental hygeine program....there are not very many and the competition is tough sometimes. Find a school with a Dental Hygeine program, find out their requirements and start taking classes to prepare. Usually, you have to take biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Psychology, and sometimes Nutrition. Most of these should be transferrable to a school with they hygeine program, but when you call, find out for sure. Most Hygeine programs are 2 years and you earn your Associates in Science degree, not a BA. Try and score well in your science classes, as these will count a lot in the admissions process. Most schools also require you to take a test (ours is the TEAS test) and you have to score a certain percentage to qualify for admission. Good Luck.

i was just wondering, how am i suppose to get experience when i can't even get a job in dental hygiene.. what do i do?? how did you first start out in dental hygiene?

Answer:

Question : What level of math is good enough to do well in the dental hygiene program?
I am currently in 11th grade and taking Algebra 2 with an A in that class, I am thinking of taking Pre-Cal during the summer so I can do Calculus for my senior year if it helps me get into that program or do well. Do you think Calculus is an important necessity for the dental hygiene program or will Pre-Cal be good enough?

Answer:
You really do not need math for dental hygiene. Dental hygiene is a science based profession so you will need to do well in science. However, if you plan on attending school to be an actual DDS then you will need several math classes. They do endo (root canals) and are required to know how to calculate certain measurements. Math is NOT my best subject and I have made it through hygiene just fine but you do have to know your science. Most colleges only require that you take a beginners math class for your BS degree and that is it. I only had to take like algebra 131 (or whatever the course number for the beginning math class) I hope you know that you have chosen a good career! Hygiene is VERY financially rewarding. I am in my last semester of my hygiene program (after the Christmas break) and I cant wait. Good luck and "good cleaning"..:-)

Question : What would be a good gift for a dental hygiene student?
She is graduating with her AA and I want to get a gift that would be helpful upon entering dental hygiene school.

Answer:
How about one of those smocks that they wear? In general for graduates, I suggest: a laptop carrying case/bag, an organizer, a web cam if she's going far away so you can chat and see each other, flash drives, lots of little helpful things such as: pens textbook page markers (plastic flags) high lighters

Question : How is dental hygiene and heart conditions related?
My mother has mitral valve stenosis and often is concerned that any work / medicine they have done with her teeh (root canal for example) may be harmful to her mitral valve heart condition. why is this? I also notice that many people on here who answer the heart disease questions have sources that are dental related (they are dental hygienists, dentists)

Answer:
It is very easy to get a cut in your mouth while at the dentist( sharp metal tools) that could lead to a possible infection, from what I understand anyone with heart problems has to be very careful about this. I had to take antibiotics before every dental appointment for thirty five years( the just discontinued that for me). They can't be too careful with heart valves
