GREAT toothbrush.

This was the third pruchase of this toothbrush for a family member and I use one myself. According to our dentist, it has really improved the health of our teeth and gums. Kids like it and they brush better using this brush.

A FEW FLAWS

I have a few complaints about this toothbrush. When I use it on high speed, it splatters everywhere and messes up my mirror. CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE BRUSH FROM MOUTH WITHOUT TURNING THE UNIT OFF FIRST! Also, the on/off button is poorly situated and way too sensitive. The unit keeps shutting off while I'm brushing because my thumb accidentally hits the button, and it turns on every time I wipe off the handle. I've never had that problem with any other electric toothbrush. I also don't like the way it switches to high speed before I can turn it off after I've been using it on low speed. This makes it splatter everywhere. It should have two separate buttons - one for one/off and one for low/high speed. My last complaint is that the brushes don't fit tightly on the base, and every time I put the handle back on the base or accidentally bump it, they fall off into the wastebasket! For those of you complaining about the battery life, if you keep the handle on the base when you aren't using it, it will stay charged. I have been using electric toothbrushes for 45 years and always kept them on the charger when not in use. UPDATE: This is ridiculous. I just brushed my teeth, and when I put the handle back on the base, the whole thing tipped over, the base and handle fell into the wastebasket, and the handle turned itself on! The brushes all wound up on the bathroom floor. Waterpik needs to come up with a heavier, more stable base. I have never had this problem with my previous electric brushes, of which there have been many, and I do not want to mount this thing on my wall. It probably wouldn't make any difference anyway - the brushes would still get knocked off the base because they are too loose. 8/16/08 - My toothbrushes just fell into the wastebasket again! I am going to e-mail a complaint to Waterpik.

Does not clean our teeth

Maybe I got a bad model but this toothbrush just does not clean my husband's or my teeth. It will leave gunk along gum line even in easy to reach places. I HATE IT! Either we will get another Oral B or try Sonicare.

Great product for the price

This is the third Waterpik electric toothbrush I have owned in the past 10 years. They just keep getting better. I love this one. It does a great job of cleaning and in combination with the Waterpik Ultra Waterjet, my mouth feels very clean. In combination and regular use my teeth and gums have shown noticeable improvement according to my dentist.

The unit is comfortable to hold and on both speeds it is comfortable to use. I can feel the higher speed as it has a noticeable difference, but it is not unpleasant. The quad timer is useful and the unit looks great. Compared to the older model I had, it is much quieter.

I would buy another one. I tried an Oral B and did not feel my teeth were clean after using. The Sonicare is just too expensive for the slimmer model. Waterpik gets it right - great product for a great price. The replacement brushes are inexpensive compared to the other two as well. An added bonus. I hope Waterpik keeps participating in this market segment despite the other 2 getting all the press.

Customer Review :

Works great (but not new)

Just want I need to replace the original that I plugged into a 220v outlet.

I still don't understand how this does not come with universal power adaptability. All electronic items for personal use (hygiene etc.) need to be world wide capable.

Anyway. The description that I brought this under said new. This item was not new. Came without original packaging supporting documentation (usage and directions) and was scratched. Definitely used.

I would have given it 5 starts without a doubt if it arrived in new condition.

fast and easy

The charger arrived in 2 days, a nice surprise. It worked like a charm. Somehow my household has people who keep on carrying these chargers on their trips and lose them. I hope these chargers are more available but this one will do.

Works like OE

Bought this expecting it to work like my original charger that came with my bundle. It charges and looks the same. It's a good product.

Good charger

I've had the charger for some months now so I feel qualified to review it, and I'm very happy. It seems a little slower than the one that originally came with the Sonicare, but the charge seems to last longer.
I recommend the product with no reservation.

Where's the ear plugs????

I'm not sure what the problem is, but there are three of us in our family, so I purchased this two-handle pack as well as a single pack separately. They are all flex care systems. The single brush has a different colored handle (more like a mint-green and white) while the two pack is the light blue and white. The single brush I purchased (the green flex care brush 6910) is just fine. Quiet works great & my son loves it!! The two-pack has something seriously wrong with it. The brushes are both SO LOUD that you dread brushing your teeth. I get up very early and feel like I'm waking the entire house when I brush my teeth. My sons brush (the single) makes no where near the kind of sounds mine does. Funny thing is, the second brush in this two-pack does the same thing!! Defect? Not sure... I've written a note to Philips Sonicare asking about any issues.... I'll post again when I get the scoop. Does a great job, but the noise is incredible!

**UPDATE** I was finally able to reach customer service for the SoniCare and they first suggested that I replace the brush head (which is brand new... 1 month). That didn't help, so they suggested I return it --- but, silly me, I don't have the box anymore, so I'm stuck with one NOISY toothbrush. Well, at least my teeth are clean!

Excellent after 2 month of use

I have been using Philips Sonicare toothbrushes for a few years, from the battery operated ones to rechargables, this is the best toothbrush I have ever used, the model comes with a UV cleaner, it is nice to know that your brush heads are free of gems every time you put your brush into your month. The different modes for cleaning is really great for those with sensitive gums, like my spouse, the flexcare heads are better shaped, and can reach deeply. it has a very high quality feel and appearance, I believe the is the newest toothbrush just came out from Phillips Sonicare.
Now I am thinking I'll buy a couple more for Christmas gifts, it is pricey, but it worth every penny, when you compare it to your dental office cost.
I bought this two handle pack, because it will save you some money compare to buy it saperately.
I highly recommended this product after 2 month use it.

Sonicare Rocks!

Was debating this one or the Ral-B and definitely made a good decision with sonicare. First off - this one is great for a couple because it has 2 units. Second, the ultraviolet cleaning thing is a nice side dish.

Most important, the toothbrush works great! Just don't put too much toothpaste on it or it foams up out of your mouth.

168 Uses. For use with the IntelliClean System only. Deep cleaning that's one step closer to daily flossing (vs. standard manual toothbrush and toothpaste). The Crest IntelliClean toothpaste has been specially formulated to quickly liquify upon brushing. The high speed bristle motion of the IntelliClean System then drives its powerful cleaning ingredients deep between teeth and along the gumline.

CREST INTELLICLEAN TOOTHPASTE

I bought this item from Ace Digital Photo and was very dissatisfied. The toothpaste should be a mint green color and it is white. It should be thicker than what I have. I emailed Ace and they agreed, the toothpaste should be a mint green, and if I have any other questions, they should be directed to the manufacturer. They took no more responsibility than that. I contacted the manufacturer and have not heard from them at all.

I would not recommend this product from Ace Digital. I paid a lot of money for this product and have to use twice as much when I brush, because of the thinness of it.

Questions & Answers
Question : do you prefer battery powered or normal toothbrush?
do you prefer battery powered or normal toothbrush?

Answer:
i enjoy the feel of the batteryed powered when you know it is cleaning i also love water picks they are some wonderful creations that make the mouth feel clean and nice

Question : Are battery powered/electric toothbrushes better than manual toothbrushes?
Does it really make a difference? What kind of toothbrush do you have?

Answer:
Absolutely! I have sonicare. I'm a dental hygienist, this is the brush I recommend for most patients. It has superior plaque and stain removal capapbilities, and with the fluid motion it creates in your mouth it pushes water and toothpaste between your teeth getting you 1 step closer to flossing. Your teeth will feel so smooth and clean all day long. There's even a guarantee that you'll have whiter teeth in 30 days because it removes stains so well! If you get one make sure you read your directions for proper care of the brush, and how to use it...you don't scrub with this brush it does everything for you, you just have to move it from one area to the next. Additionally if you brush too hard it will help you stop that by making a really loud noise when you put too much force on it.

Question : which is the best power toothbrush mention the name of the company and model name please?
which is the best power toothbrush mention the name of the company and model name please?

Answer:
Any thing that you like is the best. Because you will only use a brush that you like. We like rotadent tooth brushes. But you can get the same results from good techniquea and most importantly consistency.

Question : Do you think I'm entitled to a refund on a battery powered toothbrush I bought from Tesco?
I bought one and in order for it to function, I had to open the bottom of the toothbrush (to insert the batteries which were included) with a coin. I and my mum tried every which way we could to get the damn thing open and I nearly dislocated my thumb! I decided to take it back to Customer Service at Tesco and asked them for a refund. I got no reply and she disappeared out the back and I noticed she managed to get it open herself with a coin. I said,"Well, can you close it now and do it again, to make sure". However, whilst she was doing so, the head of the brush touched the dirty desk and phone and I said, "Well, I can't use it now, it’s touched everything”. She said, “But there’s nothing wrong with it”. So, I was left without a refund. What do you think?

Answer:
Stupidity runs rampant in the world today. It’s clear by the responses who the idiots were that gave you thumbs down, Jus Curiuos (who can’t spell), susie x, and Medium Dave. These idiots probably work in customer service too. The very term customer service is to ensure a satisfied customer and a repeat customer.

Question : Is the voltage output of power outlets in Switzerland different from the U.S.?
I am traveling to Switzerland and I would like to be able to charge my electronics that i bring with me (digital camera, ipod touch, electric toothbrush) but i have heard that even with the proper adaptor (changes the USA plug to the European kind), the voltages are different and my device would be fried when i plug it in to charge. I am not sure if this is true and i need an answer fast thanks

Answer:
USA 120v, 60Hz. Switzerland 230v, 50Hz. http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

Question : Is it normal to lose some sensation in your teeth for a few mins after using a power toothbrush?
Is it normal to lose some sensation in your teeth for a few mins after using a power toothbrush?

Answer:
Yup! I bought a very fast rotating toothbrush, a sonicare, and it tickled and my tooth was so not used to it it took a little while to adapt! Good Luck!

Question : power toothbrush?
Hi dear friends, could you please tell me the correct way of brushing my teeth using a power toothbrush? I recently bought oral B power toothbrush but since this is the first time that I’m using this type of toothbrush, I need some help and advice. Thank you very much in advance. Sincerely, Rojin

Answer:
If its electric toothbrush just apply it to each tooth no need to move it around the brush does it all try not to brush ur gums though wil bleed hope that helps If its a regular toothbrush brush them in a circular motion kinda like "wax on wax off" ;)

Question : Is it better to use a manual or battery powered toothbrush?
I have been using a battery powered one for a few years and my dentist says my gumline is getting to high meaning I am brushing too hard, but at the same time I haven't gotten any cavities while using the battery powered toothbrush. When I used the manual toothbrush I had a few more cavities, but my gumline wasn't affected.

Answer:
Yes, a powered brush is much better. The rotations can reach much more than a manual brush. You can brush for 15 mins and not reach as much as 2 mins on a manual brush...I read somewhere. But yes, you do have to use less pressure than w/a reg brush. I had the same problem with my gums, they were taking a beating. Until my dentist taught me how. Let the brush do the work for you. Never, never scrub. When u scrub, even if u don't touch the gums, the vibrations can damage them. Go in tiny circles, gently tickling ur gums, spend a few seconds on each tooth them glide it to the next tooth. You don't have to apply much pressure. Let the brush to the work. If you keep pressing too hard, hold the brush with 3 fingers and glide. Most power brushes work better with less pressure. I use to use Oral b but switched to Sonicare, super soft bristles. It keeps my teeth really white, my doc said don't need teeth bleaching and kept the cavities at bay. But remember, no scrubbing and go gentle!

Question : Which is better a battery powered toothbrush or a rechargeable toothbrush?
I'm currently looking into battery powered and rechargeable toothbrushes but I'm not sure which is better and which one to go with. I am torn between the oralb vitality and the oral b advanced power 400 series and the oral b cross action power. All of which are battery powered except for the vitality. The vitality brush heads all except for the sonic vitality brushhead fits the oralb advanced power. So my question is which is better, battery powered or rechargeable?

Question : Oral-B Cross Action Power Electric Toothbrush?
Ok my toothbrush won't stay off.. like i press down the "Off" portion of the button and it stays off for like a second, but every time I even so much as touch any part of the brush, it turns back on! like when i go to put it in the holder, it turns itself on.. it is really quite annoying.. is there anything I can do? Or should I just buy a different kind of electric toothbrush?

Answer:
Sometimes, dried toothpaste sticks underneath the control switch. Try rinsing it really well in hot water.
