Sonicare is SUPER
My dentist suggested I use an electric toothbrush; this is my second Sonicare, and my teeth are healthily, squeequily, SUPER clean. Love it.

Sonicare - really works
This is my third Sonicare toothbrush. The one I'm using is still working great but I decided to purchase a backup with great price that Amazon is offering. I also have the UV Sanitizer that really cleans the brushes.

good clean healthy feeling
Makes my mouth feel clean and fresh, and my dentist says more healthy. Fantastic product. Works perfectly so far, and battery holds charge for weeks. Last one held up for 4 years. I think letting the battery run down before recharging will help.

Sonicare 5300 is the best
My old sonicare batteries no longer would hold a charge which means the whole unit is toast. My new 5300 is much better all around. I like the slimmer brush holder as it reaches every tooth. The cleaning action has been much improved and I feel like I've just been to my hygienist for a cleaning after brushing. This is definitely the best unit on the market as far as I'm concerned. I do wish the batteries were replaceable however.

An AC adapter for an Eton Emergency Radio
I ordered the adapter because we wanted to user the Eton Emergency radio for normal and frequent news broadcasts. So far, we have had the AC adapter 2 weeks and all it is working well for my radio. I was happy that Amazon.com stocked this accessory. I could not find it at Radio Shack were I bought the radio.

Oh What A Feeling
I purchased the sonicare as a replacement to a Braun product which has seen better years. I must say initially the Sonicare was more powerful than realized and it took a few times before being able to use it at the normal speed. Currently I am very satisfied with the system and feel my teeth and gums get a great workout each use and are nice and clean. Good investment. I gave a 4 star rating due to the price.

Great product. When my old one from many years ago finally gave out, I tried to just use a regular toothbrush. It is just not the same.

Great toothbrush
This is the first Sonicare toothbrush I have owned. While it may sound like a lot of money to pay for a toothbrush, you will not be disappointed. My teeth feel as clean as if I had just visited the dentist everytime I brush. I highly recommend this toothbrush, it is well worth the investment.

Great product!
I have been a Sonicare user for about 10 years, and just purchased the FlexCare. It is absolutely fantastic! Never go back to a manual toothbrush again. And the sanitizer is great! I highly recommend this product!

works great, teeth feel cleaner than with a regular tooth brush. i can also see a difference after using the sonicare, my teeth are noticably whiter.

Great purchase choice
This is my second sonicare I have purchased. I really like the smaller handle with the rubber sides. I like the thinner toothbrush and the 30-second timer in this new model. The light indicates how much battery life is remaining. Very pleased with my new sonicare and all the improvements since my older version.

Almost 5 years...
After cleaning my teeth for almost 4 years and 8 months, my sonicare Elite 7300 buzzed its last vibe yesterday. The battery did not die on me, but the rubber button that covers the power switch developed a tear and thus allowing water into the chamber where the electronics reside. Unlike few reviews where the battery lost its charge after few years, mine held charge for at-least 10 days even on the day it died. Thats because of the fact that I charged and drained the battery completely on the initial charge and continued to do so once every couple of months or so.
While its a great product, i had few issues with this brush:
* The brush head cavity can fill up with water and gunk and can harbor bacteria unless its cleaned every week. More frequently if you brush while in the shower. * While operating in the tooth brush for a couple of month abroad, the magnet in the brush head fell off. * Brush heads are expensive. When i bought the brush, the cost of a pair was around $20 and they were supposed to last for 6 months. Lately, the duration has been shortened to 3 months while the cost of a pair has gone up about $5 a piece. * The brush heads were made of plastic, metal, rubber and magnets. Made me feel so-not-green while throwing them away. * The charger is only 110V and can be a trouble when traveling outside US.
Even with all these shortcomings, elite 7300 is a great dental hygiene product that was way better than manual brushing. I would buy this product in a heartbeat, but the newer Philips Sonicare Flexcare Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush series seems to solve most of the issues that I faced with the elite series. So, if you are on a moderate budget for a squeaky clean teeth and don't mind shelling out a couple of "jacksons" a year for brush heads, this is the tooth brush you need to get.

Great for Teeth, Not so Great for Hygenity
We first bought this toothbrush through our dentist and it seemed worth the price tag. Our whole family used the same toothbrush, thanks to the interchangeable heads. At first, the buzzing was VERY strong, which kind of made it funny to watch my sister get the giggles (if you are ticklish, WATCH OUT!) The toothbrush works well and keeps my teeth clean. It has two settings for power and has a sturdy design. But after a while, something gross appeared. Black mold residue stuff appeared where the toothbrush head goes. You can't see it if you never take off the head, but if you are frequently switching heads, it is extremely difficult NOT to notice. The outside part of the toothbrush isn't too difficult, but the inside that you can see when the head of the tootbrush is removed is ridiculous to clean. But, if you can get over your fear of that (it's never hurt me!) then this is a good toothbrush and will keep your chompers squeaky clean!

e7300 vs. e3000: Science Speaks Out (in Haiku!)
Too many reviews; I'll do this one in Haiku! Let's dive into it.
Saw all prior views of Sonicare customers Amazon provides.
Key to the debate: whether cheaper is better, or price wins the day.
Higher on dollars -- e7300 ("e seventy-three hundred") -- this very brush here.
Then there is this brush (Philips Sonicare Xtreme e3000 Power Toothbrush (Blue)) Cheaper, with features to match (save only a few).
We bought both brushes, one each for my wife and me. Experimented.
Used both Sonicares. Brushed ev'ry night, she and I. Same treatment, same care.
Endlessly we sparred. Three months later, here we are. One emerged victor.
Three months was too much -- for the cheaper brush was crushed. Suddenly it died.
No water damage, no mishandling, no neglect. It just died -- kaput!
Here is my advice: for relability shun the cheaper brush.
Yet consider thus: THIS costs three times more than THAT. It should give you pause.
You'll likely agree: THAT must fail three times 'fore we declare this the best.
For is this not true: fail three times before I do end up losing out?
The price of this, though more reliable, cannot beat the other's cost.
Friend, it's up to you. Buy this or try two of those; Less than three duds wins!

Outstanding Sonic Toothbrush
Best sonic toothbrush on the market. Far superior to the newer Sonicare series, which have brushes too small for a normal sized male mouth.

Great Product
System is a very fine system. I had the same product for about 6 years prior to this one.

Great upgrade
I purchased this toothbrush a few months ago and am extremely pleased with my purchase. It took a week or two for me to get used to brushing with this new brush, but once I did its been great. My teeth feel like I just got back from the dentist when I finish brushing. Also, one charge lasts 2 week easily for this brush. I would highly recommend this brush for anyone in the market for new one.

Junk
The Philips sonicare advance series is a piece of junk. On my first purchase I noticed that the replacement heads never lasted the six months they are supposed to last, cracked in less than 3 months.
When the handle cracked (after about 18 months) I bought another. The new one, the handle cracked within 3 months, and lasted less than a year. the heads cracked and did not last even remotely close to the 6 months they are supposed to. I've tried this brush twice,I'm through wasting my money, I'm going to Oral B (Braun)

Sonicare Toothbrush
I already owned a Sonicare 4100 and it has been a very reliable and effective tool. When traveling to my second home, I brought the toothbrush but forgot the charger so I decided to get a second one. The Amazon price was very good and shipping was free so I ordered. The new 4100 is exactly as good as my earlier 4100 except that I was unaware that it comes either with or without the feature to let you know when each 30 seconds of the 2 minute cycle is up. My old one has this feature, the new one does not. That was a minor disappointment as I thought I was buying exactly the same product.

Great Product
My dentist recommends this product and I finally bought it. It is amazing. It cleans your teeth very effectively, much better than Oral-B product. I even bought 2nd one for a friend's birthday and he also really like it too. I strongly recommend this product.

A Very Good Buy
I'm very happy with this model after the origianl SoniCare I owned. I can reach behind my back molars so easily. The few negative reviews are whiners. The one with the torn on off button must have dug his finger nail into it to tear it the way it was torn in his picture. I'm very pleased with this model that I use every day now, not like my other original model that was not as comfortable to use. Nice electronic features also.

Cleans well but dirty, short lived
It's a shame that this toothbrush does not deserve a higher rating because basically it does a a very good job of cleaning your teeth. However, after only a year's use every other day the plastic threads of the brush have turned a disgustingly yellow color, like they have been smoking, despite the fact that the product was thorougly cleaned after every use. Furthermore, thirteen months after purchase it won't work properly because the brush gets jammed after it is tightened on the handle.

Questions & Answers
Question : Should i go for Dental hygiene school Or Dental School?
Im about to get my associates in biology. I dont know if i should transfer to a hygiene school and became a dental hygienist or go for my bachelours for biology and eventually to DENTAL SCHOOL. The disadvantages of dental hygiene: Work is mostly Partime, dont get benefits, work in different locations. i Really dont know what to do... has anybody had this tough choice? Help me out... any advice? I really love the dental field but i dont know what i should go for.
Answer:
Although it involves a larger amount of work, I would say go for you bachelors, and then Dental School. Mainly because you can do a lot more with a bachelors degree in biology then you can with an associates. Now is the time to do it. If you go to become a dental hygenist and then later you want to move up, it may not be suited to fit in your schedule. You dont sound happy with the partime and no benefits, so I would recomend Dental School. Becoming a dentist would provide you with a much larger pay, more hours, and a lot more recognition. But mostly, do what your heart tells you, even if it involves extra work!

Question : Wich site is good to get good pictures of dental hygiene when smoking ?
Im doing a project on dental hygiene when you smoke but i can't find any picture of teeth that are in terrible shape.
Answer:
There is a good page on dental health tips for those who smoke.

Question : Does anybody know how many years it takes total to get a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene?
I cant make up my mind if i should get my Associate's or Bachelor's in dental hygiene?
Answer:
Bachelor's degree is generally a four year degree.
If it helps in your decision, it would not make one bit of difference to me if a job candidate had a 2-year or 4-year degree. There are so many other things that are important for the job. Maybe others don't feel that way, but I do. As long as you are a well-rounded person who can hold a conversation and think your way out of a paper bag, the extra years in school do not really contribute anything to the skill set needed to do well in your job.
|
Question : I'm planning on getting a bachelors of science in dental hygiene, but I'm confused?
If I get this degree what other major could I do other than dental hygiene if possible? I really want to be a dental hygienist but we'll see.
Answer:
They really have bachelors degrees in Dental Hygiene? Are you sure you don't mean an associates?
I'll take your word for it - and it will be a good job. Especially in Europe there is a HUGE demand for because there aren't enough.
A bachelo's is a bachelor's, and you can always use it to study further, even law school, medical school or business school.
My brother was an airforce pilot and a lot of the officers and pilots had degrees in drama and other unrelated things - doesn't matter!

Question : Whats the difference between Dental Hygiene,Assistant.....?
HI, i am trying to decome a dentist one day, but in my undergraduate school their is different options Dental hygiene and assitant. What should i apply for?
THANKS
I'm Trying to become a Dentist?
Answer:
Assistant's make no money. A hygenist can make a reasonable hourly rate.
|
Question : Is that true that If you have dental hygiene degree you stand a goos chance to get into Dental school ?
What if i had bad grades and low DAT score but if i do dental hygiene and get BS again does that make me a good candidate for dental school ?
Answer:
No. In the same way that a person qualified as a Medical Lab Tech would have no automatic advantage for medical school.
It would qualify you as a dental hygienist, and that's honorable work.
If your heart is set on dentistry, then I'd recommend taking a couple of years off, finding a health-care related job, and then going back to college to major in pre-med--and WORK HARD to get your GPA for the pre-med program up to snuff.
I had a friend who screwed off during his first BA degree (he played college football for that one). After living in Hawaii making souvenirs for tourists for a couple of years, he got a job taking xrays in a hospital and went back for pre-med. In his med school application, he took pains to emphasize that his GPA from his first school was low due to his lack of direction and the demands of college football, and his GPA was a better indication of his potential now that he had a clear goal. He's had a good career, now, as a Urologist in Florida.

Question : How can I find a reliable dental hygiene state board patient?
I am a dental hygiene graduate from San Diego. I schedule patients to determine if they are eligible candidates for the state board exam. However, most don't even show up for a screening appointment. I am looking for someone under 30 years of age, has not had a cleaning within the past 5 years, and doesn't smoke. I have put ads up on the free classified sections on the internet, but still have not found a good, reliable patient. I need help. And no, I will not waste my money on a finder's service, they are a waste of money.
Answer:
no family memebers whose oral hygiene makes you cringe? ask all your neighbors for their friends or family. ask ask ask. you know they are out there. you might ask the local dentists- of corse their patients are being taken care of but i would bet that the staff has family members in need of a cleaning. lord, i know i do. but my family is in tennessee.

Question : What are some good Houston based institutions to get dental hygiene licensed without attending a university?
I want to recieve my dental hygiene license from an institution that allows me to do this a little faster than attending a college, are there any like this in houston besides montgomery county community college, they want me to take all of these biology pre-reqs, that will just waste my time.
Answer:
Universities do not offer dental hygiene programs. Check out community colleges, but be wary of trade schools. Before signing on with a trade school, ask to see records of how many of their graduates pass the state boards AND how many find jobs withing 90 days.
Most dental schools operate a program for dental hygienists. Talk to you hygienist and ask where they went to school.

Question : Is it possible to own a dental hygiene office without having a dentist present?
I'm wanting to be a dental hygienest and I was wondering if I could open an office without a dentist. I think the laws vary from state to state, I'm in texas by the way.
Answer:
I am a dental hygiene therapist in the U.K but I presume the referral system is the same. Hygienists/and Therapists can own their own practices but must have a referring dentist who can do the examainations etc. as it is illegal to work without a prescription from a registered dentist. You should check with the governing dental body in the States and they should be able to give you all the correct information. Good Luck it's a good career!
|
Question : ?Dental Hygiene?
My fiance is a dental hygienist. I have been told that you can't open a dental hygiene clinic in Texas. We wanted to open a office that did cleanings only, without a dentist. Can anyone confirm or deny the laws surronding an office of this nature in Texas?
Answer:
Hi, I'm a dentist.
A dental hygienist must practice under a dentist's license in almost every state in the union. I believe the exception is rural parts of one of the Dakotas and possibly Alaska as well for the Inuit population, as there are very few dentists in that area. Don't count on your fiance ever being able to do this. The American Dental Association spends a lot of money and time lobbying against independent hygiene clinics, and for good reason.
Not what you wanted to hear, no doubt, but it's the truth.
