Questions & Answers
Question : Where can I find the best dental care?
I'm a foreigner living here and I need your advice I have a medical insurance in the following hospitals in Malaysia and I want to know which one has'got the best dental care and the best dentists as well 1-Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital 2-Damansara Specialist Hospital 3-Selangor Medical Center 4-KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital 5-Tawakal Hospital 6-Sentosa Medical Center and another question Are there Syrian or Lebanese Dentists?

Answer:
I don't live in the area so unfortunately I can't be of help. But I do feel complied to tell you that not all Malaysians are like Living a Life, who doesn't even know that Lebanon and Syria are parts of Asia. *roll eyes* Whatever he just said, well seems like he is describing himself. Dont mind him. As a foreigner living on others' land, I understand how you may prefer to obtain services from people who have the same background as yourself. I do that a lot too :) But on the other hand, there is no harm of giving the local dentists a try. Some of them are trained overseas and do a terrific job :)

Question : I need advice on dental care.My job offers 3 types of bene.the one with most coverage is least expensive why?
Cigna requires a hmo primary dentist but it covers 100% on most care. Is having a dental primary care provider really that big of a deal. I need alot of work.

Answer:
Having a dental PCP is not a big deal, as there are many dentists looking for patients in need of work.

Question : Where can you get dental care for the very poor adult?
My mother needs dental care due to having severe acid reflux. She had a beautiful smile. She contracted a stomach virus and vomited several times, the acid from her stomach deteriated her right front tooth. She has half or less of it left.We live in Anniston,Alabama. My mother is on SSI which doesn't pay for the dental work she needs.Like veneers or somthing along those lines. We would love to see our mother smile again.

Answer:
Since she is on SSI she should qualify for Medicare or Medical (It might be called something else if you are in another state). A last resort would be something like Western Dental- where they have payment plans, but there dentists are not the best. Has she seen her regular dentist? There is not hurt in calling and asking how much something is and if they accept payment plans.

Question : Did you have proper dental care as a child?
If you're a teenager, do your parents make sure you have proper dental care?

Answer:
I'm 55 and I didn't. I don't remember even being told to brush my teeth. Whenever I had a cavity my parents told me to get it pulled instead of filled because when I got older I would have dentures anyway. I got my first pair of dentures when I was 17. I hate my parents till today for doing that to me.

Question : How do low income people with no dental insurance get care for their teeth?
My best friends teeth are in need of dental care and she doesnt' have good credit or dental insurance. I know that hospitals care for people with no money on t.v. all the time, but what does someone like her do? She isn't in pain with them, but she is about to lose 2 of her teeth if something isn't done soon and she is so sad and I am sad for her. Please help!! We live in the Houston area.

Answer:
Try contacting these people,, Univ of Tx Dental college http://www.db.uth.tmc.edu/clinic-pat/Patient_Information/becoming1.htm Here's another list of organiations/agencies http://www.hd.co.harris.tx.us/chs/dental/Dental%20Web%20Docs/Dental%20Access%20Intro%20Page.htm Most of these places are overloaded,,and there's usually waiting lists and "red tape"... It's frustrating,,but stick with it. Thanks for trying to help your friend Good luck to Y'all

Question : Dental care?
I am 60 and take care of my grandsons, so I have little money to use towards dental care. I need a root canal and crown badly on a tooth that shows when I smile. It looks black because I broke part of it off. Do not tell me to get dental insurance as they do not work for 1 yr. Is there a place someone like me can go to get cheaper dental work?

Answer:
One option available to you is to go to a dental school. They will perform the procedure on you at little cost to you due to them needing you as a patient to test/qualify a particular student (DDS). No idea where you live. So you're going to have to find a dental school on your own. Most large universities have dental schools.

Question : Is there a thing as free dental care?
I need to go see a dentist bad, with no health insurance, little money, is there a thing as free dental care? I live in california

Answer:
find a local university or community college that has a dental program. they offer cleanings and some minor repairs. problem is it will take longer, and they are still learning so screw-ups are possible. I would also suggest calling all dentists in your area. some of them will allow you to make monthly payments. I had to get 2 pulled a while back- no insurance, i make too much money for gov't assistance, but a $300 dental bill would have killed me and my kids. I found a really great dentist who let me pay him $10/month. It was really quite amazing. I also remember, from back when i was little that my church had a free dental day, where a couple of the dentists who attended would get together to help members in need. You may try that route as well. good luck to you.

Question : Being a university student, am i entitled to any benefits for medical/dental care?
As i am 19 and a student at university, am i entitled to any medical or dental benefits for treatment? Well Ryder its not about getting a job, fulltime students work parttime as well as studying so we are a bit short on cash.

Answer:
In general, no - not from the university. Your fees cover tuition, not health care. You should have purchased health insurance,

Question : Does anyone know how a navy dependant would enroll in a dental care program?
I really need to enroll in a dental care program, I know that most military dependants can go through something called Concordia, but I just looked at their website and it didn't seem to help. Does anyone have personal experience with this, or know how much it costs? If it helps, I am a navy wife. Thanks!

Answer:
It's through United Concordia. Call them at 1-800-332-0366 and let them know that you want to enroll. It's about $28.00 a month. they will send you a benefits booklet. It's decent insurance.

Question : How should I approach a dentist to barter my marketing skills in exchange for dental care?
I don't have dental coverage, my business is marketing and my smile is a mess.

Answer:
In order to barter the value of your services should be equal or close to the dentist. So first look for a dentist offering free exams and x-rays, cleanings for new patients this is approx value of $200 savings and a great way for you to introduce yourself and become familiar with your new dentist and customer. Now back to the marketing part obvisously if you have the coupon for free services he is marketing but your referrals may still matter for discount for each referral and if your create an affordable avenue to mail out or distribute the coupons, cards etc. for a set discount amount. In addition you let him know you are paying privately (cash) and plan your treatment according to your budget and your marketing services discount. For more savings on your bill you can obtain low cost dental care by enrolling in a discount dental plan for about $100.00 for the entire year! Discount dental plans provide 10-60% off routine dental care and expensive dental procedures plus select plans offer FREE exams, x-rays etc. Now you have saved hundreds off your dental bill by combining the discount dental plan, marketing and coupon either way you will receive a treatment plan with costs and you will know how much to barter and it's worth to both of you. Look below for a few more tips on how to cut dental costs
