Question : Did you have proper dental care as a child?
If you're a teenager, do your parents make sure you have proper dental care?
Answer:
I'm 55 and I didn't. I don't remember even being told to brush my teeth. Whenever I had a cavity my parents told me to get it pulled instead of filled because when I got older I would have dentures anyway. I got my first pair of dentures when I was 17. I hate my parents till today for doing that to me.

Question : How do I get free dental care in Florida?
I have a tooth with a missing filling. The nerve is exposed and it is sending sharp throbbing pain to my bottom right row of teeth anytime I breathe or move my mouth the wrong way. I have been using temporary filler and Ambesol but even that seems to not be working well anymore. I just need it to be dealt with by a professional at this point but we are sooo broke and don't even have health insurance. HELP!! Pls
Answer:
Try going to a Dental College in your area. They usually accept patients "to practice" supervised by their instructors.

Question : Where can I find inexpensive dental care in the Killeen, Texas area? Need work done, have very little money.?
I have no dental insurance, need to have some teeth pulled, including wisdom teeth. Hoping there is a Dental school nearby that offers free/low cost care.
Answer:
Call up a dentist and ask if he knows of a low cost or sliding scale clinic in the area. Sometimes dentists will donate work to low income people and there might be a free dental clinic that you can go to. If the first dentist doesn't know then try another one.

Question : How should I approach a dentist to barter my marketing skills in exchange for dental care?
I don't have dental coverage, my business is marketing and my smile is a mess.
Answer:
In order to barter the value of your services should be equal or close to the dentist. So first look for a dentist offering free exams and x-rays, cleanings for new patients this is approx value of $200 savings and a great way for you to introduce yourself and become familiar with your new dentist and customer. Now back to the marketing part obvisously if you have the coupon for free services he is marketing but your referrals may still matter for discount for each referral and if your create an affordable avenue to mail out or distribute the coupons, cards etc. for a set discount amount. In addition you let him know you are paying privately (cash) and plan your treatment according to your budget and your marketing services discount.
For more savings on your bill you can obtain low cost dental care by enrolling in a discount dental plan for about $100.00 for the entire year! Discount dental plans provide 10-60% off routine dental care and expensive dental procedures plus select plans offer FREE exams, x-rays etc.
Now you have saved hundreds off your dental bill by combining the discount dental plan, marketing and coupon either way you will receive a treatment plan with costs and you will know how much to barter and it's worth to both of you.

Question : How come hospitals don't have dental departments for after hours emergency dental care ?
A friend of mine broke his tooth on Friday evening. He went to a local hospital emergency room and was given pain meds and told to see his dentist first thing Monday morning. Why can't hospitals provide emergency dental care !
Answer:
Because our greedy health care system is horrible ! While a broken tooth isn't exactly an emergency it is crucial to get immediate dental care to have a chance to save a tooth. If you have to wait two or three days to see your dentist, chances are you'll lose a tooth that probably could have been saved.
It's a sad situation that our health care system is so expensive, so horrible and above not accessible to everyone.
When doctors offices are closed the only other place to get medical attention is via hospital emergency rooms and while some medical issues may not be emergency in nature, where else can you get treatment after hours.

Question : How would you get free dental care through your state?
I am in dire need of a dentist and I really can not afford one. I live with my boyfriend and do not work. I watch our daughter and his older daughter from another relationship. I know if him and I were married it would be done and over with but that is not an option right now. Please let me know if there is anyway for this to happen.
Answer:
Here, where I am, certain health centers offer dental services. You can't be on insurance of any sort, including medicare/medicaid. But they offer the services for free.
For those who are on Medicare/Medicaid, there are dental offices that accept that type of insurance.
There are also community services offered. I recently learned that there is a church in my area that offers free services such as dental, a pharmacy, eye exams, etc all in the church there. It's something they offer once a month, I think, and they only accept 20 people each time.
Not all of these services may be available in your area, but services like that aren't advertised much, you have to do your research.
Good luck!
