Editorial Review :

This Oral-B rechargeable toothbrush takes oral hygiene to a new level of convenience and cleanliness. The Oral-B Triumph 9450 is a powerful, rechargeable toothbrush with multiple brushheads and functions. Includes a hard plastic carrying case for easy transport of toothbrush and brushhead. Without the cover, the Triumph slim design takes up little room in your travel bag. In addition, the indicator on the handle of the Triumph can be programmed for any of 13 different languages, and the SmartPlug -- located at the end of the cord for the charging ring -- automatically adapts to any voltage worldwide. According to Oral B, the FloshAction brushhead relies on MicroPulse bristles that penetrate between the teeth for a flossing effect, while the PowerPolisher is designed, as the name implies, to "power polish" your teeth clean in 21 days. The Triumph is able to recognize the brush head of choice and automatically select the appropriate mode of brushing. For the PowerPolisher, the Triumph defaults to the "polish" mode of brushing, and for the FlossAction brushhead, it selects the "clean" mode of brushing. The remaining two modes available with the Triumph -- "massage" and "soft" -- may be selected manually by pressing the mode button on the side of the handle. One of the real values of the Triumph lies in the convenience it provides to the user. An easy-to-read digital display set into the handle of the brush lights tells you when the brushheads are ready for replacement or when the battery needs recharging. Additionally, the brush is programmed to time each brushing session for the dentist-recommended two minutes. Every 30 seconds the brush pulses, alerting the user to shift to a new quadrant of the mouth. And when the two minutes are up, the brush pulses and displays a friendly "happy face" on the handle's indicator.

Like a charm...

Works like a charm. Nice clean teeth and mouth. The slight pause to let you know to change areas is no bother at all, its more of a pulse than a pause. I will buy another when needed. Try it out!!

Brush head like a real toothbrush

I love the Sonic Complete, especially because I'm one of those people who need a brush with a head on it like a real toothbrush...not a small round one. This brush does the job, removing plaque effectively. I'm a dental hygienist, and have used the Sonicare (which stopped working), and the other Oral B Braun round head brushes. I prefer the Sonic Complete.

better hope it never goes wrong!

I purchased 3 of these toothbrushes for my family in June 2006. The toothbrush does a very thorough cleaning and leaves your mouth with a 'fresh-from-the-dentist' feel. Also the two minute timer is very useful for children as a way to encourage longer brushing. Dentist commented at 6 month check up that our teeth all looked well cared for! BUT one toothbrush simply stopped working in Jan 2007 - this was certainly annoying for a product only in use for 7 months but it was still under guarantee so I packaged it off to a service centre per Braun 1-800 number instructions. Never heard anything for weeks and finally called the service centre. They had been unable to repair - (thanks for the follow up call, not!) - and had advised Braun. Called Braun and they said they would send out a replacement shortly. Well, this became the longest journey from NJ warehouse to my DC address ever! Took 3 months and 5 phone calls on my part. On one occasion, I explained to customer service people that I was still waiting for the toothbrush. I had followed the Federal Express tracking number but Federal Express had been unable to deliver as the address was incomplete. They had returned the toothbrush to Braun. The Braun customer service agent asked me curtly "why do you blame Braun for that?" Not once in any of the 5 phone calls to Braun did anyone offer an apology for the situation and the ridiculously long amount of time I was without a toothbrush. Customer service - zero stars. toothbrush - 4 stars. I went down the middle and awarded it 2 stars/.

Nice Toothbrush

I bought this to replace a worn out (dead battery) Oral-B 3d electric toothbrush. The Sonic seems much easier on my gums, and seems to be an effective cleaner. I'm not thrilled with the 30 sec timer (it stutters), but perhaps it's forcing me to brush longer. The sonic action really seems to get the toothpaste into all the nooks and crannies, but also (unfortunately) onto my shirt. You really have to make a conscious effort to keep your mouth closed, and even then toothpaste will inevitably leak out. I think the sonic action liquefies the paste much more than manual brushing. A great toothbrush overall.

Oral-B Triumph

To put it very simply this is the best electric tooth brush I have ever used. After a few weeks use I could clearly see less plaque behind my bottom front teeth which was not the case with my previous high profile brush by another manufacturer. I comes with several heads and the LCD will tell you when you need a new brush head and how long you brushed your teeth. When brushing your teeth their will be a very quick pause ever 30 seconds to let you know to move to a different quadrant. You will like this toothbrush.

Feels like a dental cleaning everyday!!

This product is absolutely superb. The floss action brushheads are strong but never harsh and my teeth always feel smooth and clean. This brush is rather sophiscated in the fact that it automatically identifies exactly when your brush head needs to be replaced and it can be programmed to function in several different languages. This is probably the best product by far that Oral-B has come out with. It is a little pricey however, I rather spend the money on a brush than on fillings and other painful dental work. Take your pick.

Great toothbrush

I have been using this toothbrush for a couple of months and I really like it. I find the battery life to be great, the timer works well, although I do have to say I have little use for 2 of the 4 brush heads that came with.

Rating :

Battery Life

I have found that in order to get the 2-week battery charge (brushing twice a day) it is necessary to charge the battery for 24 hrs not 12 hrs as stated in the manual.

Questions & Answers
Question : What do the numbers on the top of the Crest toothbrush packages represent?
On the top of the toothbrush package, there is a number (ex: 35, 93, 40). What IS that?

Answer:
I have always wondered that.... I hope someone knows the answer to that.

Question : How Do I Stop My Toothpaste From Going Down My Toothbrush?
How do I get my toothpaste to not go down the toothbrush. It's not when I brush my teeth. When I use it it doesn't go down the toothbrush, but when I'm done I rinse it really good and make sure there isn't any toothpaste on it. But the next time I use it, there is dried up toothpaste on parts of it. So I need help.

Answer:
Hang it bristle-down when not in use.

Question : How do you clean the gunk from an electric toothbrush?
I hope you guys can help me with this since Philips (Sonicare maker) couldn't even properly answer this question. Almost every week, disgusting dark green colored film collects inside the electric toothbrush head. First of all, is this normal? is anyone else having this issue? I have to take a manual toothbrush to scrub out the film. Is this a common occurrence with electric toothbrushes, am I supposed to ignore this gross film and just change the head every 3-4 months? It's getting to be a hassle to have to clean out this film every week!

Answer:
THIS FILM IS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE WITH THIS BRUSH. ONCE PER WEEK USE A PAPER TOWEL DAMPENED IN RUBBING ALCOHOL TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE CAP. THIS MAINTENANCE MUST ALSO BE DONE FOR THE RUBBER CONNECTOR OF THE BRUSH HEAD. REMEMBER TO REPLACE THE BRUSH HEAD EVERY THREE MONTHS. I USE THE SONICARE ELITE MODEL.

Question : What kind of electric toothbrush should I get?
I'm getting braces soon and my hygienist said to get an electric toothbrush. So what kind should I get that will help take better care of my braces?

Answer:
Sonicare Elite is my top choice. There are many different model designations, but the "motors" are all pretty much the same. The kits are different because they pack different accessories. Some have two brush heads and some have four. Some have a travel bag and some have a wall-mount charger instead of a counter top charger. Just read the label carefully and buy what you need. Bear in mind that you will have to replace the brush heads about every six months, so see if it is cheaper to buy a few extra brush heads in one of the kits. Otherwise, buy a Sonicare, read and follow the directions. The directions are very clear and easy to understand. Sonicare is especially recommended for someone with braces, by the way. If you want to try a Sonicare without taking out a loan, I've got good news for you. I just bought one for THIRTY DOLLARS. It uses two "AA" batteries, so you are not paying for a charger, etc. I have no idea how long the batteries last (yet), but $70 would buy a boat load of batteries. It seems to be equally effective as the rechargeable version with the new batteries.

Question : What does it mean when the guy you're dating leaves a toothbrush at your house?
We've only been dating for like 3 weeks and he already has a freaking toothbrush at my house. He automatically assumes he's staying the night when he comes over. What's up with that? He's a student, graduating this semester, that lives with his parents and I have my own house so it's kinda freaking me out a little bit.

Answer:
Sounds like you've answered your own question. It seems he's latched onto to you to get out... dont do it girl!!!! Make that man get his own and prove he can make it on his own. There is nothing wrong with living together, but he moving to fast for me, and I dont even know him!!! You need to set some ground rules quick before you have a roomate!!!!

Question : How to clean a toothbrush holder?
Just want sum tips on cleaning a toothbrush holder, its one of those with holes in for the toohbrushes and you cant get inside of it as it doesnt have a lid. I usually just fill it with hot water and all purpose cleaner, leave for a while and then rinse out, but if you look inside closely I can still see dirt at the bottom of the holder which i cant get into. Any tips?

Answer:
put a few grains of rice and a little vinegar in it then swirl around for a bit. it's great for vases too!

Question : Is it ok to use a strong electric toothbrush after wisdom tooth removal?
I have a pretty strong electric toothbrush (it's Oral-B Professional Care Triumph). Is it too strong to use after wisdom teeth removal?

Answer:
Stay away from the extraction site for about 5-7 days with any kind of instrument. You could tear the stitches and/or knock out the blood clot which could lead to dry socket which is very very painful. Also avoid carbonated drinks, swishing liquid in your mouth, mouthwash, smoking, and sucking on straws. You can rinse very gently with warm water.

Question : Can two cats share a toothbrush, or does each need their own?
I'm planning to get a cat toothbrush and cat toothpaste. They are brother and sister, no FIV, FLV or other diseases, and share the same food and water bowls. They both have really clean white teeth from Greenies use, but the sister is now using my fingernails to scrape her teeth sometimes, so I thought maybe they'd like to get their teeth brushed instead. Seattle provided this link to a helpful training video on how to brush your cats' teeth. So I know I can do it. http://www.felinevideos.vet.cornell.edu/brushing_teeth/4.shtml

Answer:
I would use two different brushes. Cats can get infections of the gums (gingivitis) just like humans. Also just because your cats have passed all pertinent blood test does not mean that they can not get colds and upper respiratory infections.

Question : How do you replace a rechargeable battery toothbrush?
I have a Braun rechargeable toothbrush and used it for years. It seems that the battery needs to be replaced. Has anyone replaced a rechargeable battery for this?

Answer:
Batteries Plus can replace it for you.. They have many locations in the US. Check to see if there is a store near by: http://www.batteriesplus.com/t-storeloc.aspx
