Oral-B is a Great Value

I am really pleased with my Oral-B Professional Care toothbrush kit. The first time I used it, my mouth and teeth felt a new level of cleanliness. I was so happy with this product that I purchased one for my parents as well.

A charge lasts approximately two weeks when used for cleaning teeth in the morning as well as at night. You will need to buy replacement heads about every four months.

This product vibrates the head every 30 seconds to keep you on pace with cleaning your teeth. It sends a different vibration at the 2-minute mark to let you know you are finished cleaning.

Good n Cheep!

I was searching to buy my first electric tooth brush and after reading many reviews and talking to friends I picked Oral-B 8950.
I bought it from [...] and for $[...] you get 2 brushes and 4 replacement parts no one can beat the price and quality!
This brush is not very fancy, i.e. timer, digital display, but it works very well. Both me and my husband use it daily and are happy.

Great Product

I bought this to replace a 5 year old Oral B unit. The old unit needed charging a couple of times a week at the end and the charger also got flaky. This new unit made a difference in that it makes our teeth feel like they did when the old unit was new - like after a dentist cleaning. I also like the 30 sec timer to let you know to move on to the next surface and the indicator to tell me when it needs charging. Charge times are longer than the advertised 16 hours - closer to 20 hours.

GREAT TOOTHBRUSH

Great toothbrush so far, have only been using for a couple days, but what a difference (I had a dinosaur electric toothbrush before) - have been reading other reviews on the web and most complain that there is only one charger that comes with the package. I found a website that sells additional handles[...] if you want an extra one.

Excellent after 2 month of use

I have been using Philips Sonicare toothbrushes for a few years, from the battery operated ones to rechargables, this is the best toothbrush I have ever used, the model comes with a UV cleaner, it is nice to know that your brush heads are free of gems every time you put your brush into your month. The different modes for cleaning is really great for those with sensitive gums, like my spouse, the flexcare heads are better shaped, and can reach deeply. it has a very high quality feel and appearance, I believe the is the newest toothbrush just came out from Phillips Sonicare.
Now I am thinking I'll buy a couple more for Christmas gifts, it is pricey, but it worth every penny, when you compare it to your dental office cost.
I bought this two handle pack, because it will save you some money compare to buy it saperately.
I highly recommended this product after 2 month use it.

Sonicare Rocks!

Was debating this one or the Ral-B and definitely made a good decision with sonicare. First off - this one is great for a couple because it has 2 units. Second, the ultraviolet cleaning thing is a nice side dish.

Most important, the toothbrush works great! Just don't put too much toothpaste on it or it foams up out of your mouth.

Where's the ear plugs????

I'm not sure what the problem is, but there are three of us in our family, so I purchased this two-handle pack as well as a single pack separately. They are all flex care systems. The single brush has a different colored handle (more like a mint-green and white) while the two pack is the light blue and white. The single brush I purchased (the green flex care brush 6910) is just fine. Quiet works great & my son loves it!! The two-pack has something seriously wrong with it. The brushes are both SO LOUD that you dread brushing your teeth. I get up very early and feel like I'm waking the entire house when I brush my teeth. My sons brush (the single) makes no where near the kind of sounds mine does. Funny thing is, the second brush in this two-pack does the same thing!! Defect? Not sure... I've written a note to Philips Sonicare asking about any issues.... I'll post again when I get the scoop. Does a great job, but the noise is incredible!

**UPDATE** I was finally able to reach customer service for the SoniCare and they first suggested that I replace the brush head (which is brand new... 1 month). That didn't help, so they suggested I return it --- but, silly me, I don't have the box anymore, so I'm stuck with one NOISY toothbrush. Well, at least my teeth are clean!

11 Year Old Daughter Loves this Toothbrush

My daughter asked for the Oral B 9900 for Christmas. She absolutely loves it. She seems to be brushing longer than before, and the Smart Guide feature provides great guidance (and I don't have to say anything!)

Switched from Sonicare

Per the recommendation of my brother-in-law, who is also my dentist, I made the switch from Sonicare to Braun Oral-B. I love this toothbrush. The Smart Guide is helpful. You may track your brushing time and speed without having to pause to look at the handle. I like that Oral-B's brush heads are compatible with all of the toothbrushes. If they introduce a new type of replacment head, you don't have to have the latest model toothbrush in order to try it out.
Amazon offered the best price (through JR Computer World). Shipping was reasonably quick.

Oral B Triumph Professional

This is an awesome toothbrush!!! I heard about this electronic miracle from a co-worker/friend at work and she was told about it from her friend/dental hygentist. I always used the Sonicare, that was recommended by my dentist, I used this for 15 years and upgraded to their newest version/model. I bought the Triumph for my daughter for Christmas and she told me "I had to try it"..."it was like going to the dentist"...so of course my curiosity got the best of me and I did try it and now I'm hooked. I bought more toothbrush heads and we share the same handle. It has other attachments for polishing and gum massage. If you are looking for an electric toothbrush, look no further and just price shop for the Oral B Triumph...it is worth EVERY penny and more. It doesn't get gooey in between brushings and is very easy to clean. I'm happy to review this product and give it my higest rating.

Good with one problem

Pretty good product. My only complaint is that I constantly have to reset the clock because it runs fast, usually 5 minutes/week.

Rating :

I love this thing

This is an awesome toothbrush. I can tell my teeth are getting whiter and my gums are getting healthier. I really like the display unit as it is great to have a clock in the bathroom and a timer while I brush, and the fact that it is an all in one unit makes it even better.

I have found that 2 minutes is actually two short to brush all of my teeth the way that I want to. With a regular brush, or a cheap power brush I only brushed about a minute or so because of the technique I was using. With this I am brushing for about 3 minutes on average. This is because I spend more time on each tooth. I can do this because the brush is doing the work, not my back and forth motion. All of this is leading to the whiter teeth and healthier gums.

The included polishing head is great and I use that with Crest Vivid White toothpaste. The tongue freshener is also a great addition, as well as the fourth head that comes with this kit. With the additional 3 pack of Flossaction tips included, I found this to be a good value.

The bottom line is you can't go wrong with this product if you want a healthy mouth.

Pearly White!!

Ok...this was a great purchase. I was about to go in for the whitening treatment because I just couldn't get my teeth white again after pro-cleaning and regular brushing with all those new whitening products on the market. This product was refered to me by a friend. It worked! Got my bright smile back without an expensive treatment from the dentist.

Rating :

Good toothbrush - don't need the smart guide

I bought this on recommendation from my dentist to stop brushing so hard, and so far the brush does help from a. brushing too hard and b. brushing for too little. The 30 second vibrations that the brush does make the smart guide pretty useless. Since I travel a lot, I turned off the radio signal that talks to the smart guide after the first week, and never turned it back on.

OUtstanding

I've had this toothbrush for about a month now and I must say that it is the best toothbrush I've ever used. I used to think that an electric toothbrush was for pansies but since my dentist recommended that I get one I decided to take the plunge and get the best one I could find.

Using this brush makes it a pleasure to brush my teeth and if I had it when I was growing up I would have brushed my teeth more often and I wouldn't have gotten so many cavities.

Question : Is wireless transmission of power over short distances feasible?
It seems that everything is going wireless these days by using radio and infrared communication. Bluetooth is being put into most portable electronics, everyone including kindergarteners carry cell phones, laptops are all wi-fi ready, wireless mice and keyboards are sitting untethered on people's desks, but we are all still plugged in to the wall. (I know laptops break free from time to time, but as they get older, they tend to get plugged in more often.) Will we see wireless transmission of power to our appliances any time soon? I realize that this has been done over very short distances, like rechargeable toothbrushes and recharging pads for portable electronics, but I want to know for distances from 1-50 feet. Or would it be too dangerous to have such huge quantities of power floating through the air? If we used directed energy, would people get fried it they crossed the beam? What do you think? Can anyone provide studies that suggest that this is not feasible? Also, please read the question, I am talking about transmitting power over a distance from 1-50 feet. More takers please! I only got one good answer so far!

Answer:
Yes. For distances of 50 feet or so, it is definitely possible to transmit power. A RADAR is a good example. Think of a microwave oven with a directional antenna. The more power you want to transmit, the more dangerous it is to a person that gets in the way of the beam. Not really "cancer" dangerous. More like "crispy fried" dangerous. The problem is that it's very inefficient to transmit power in this way. When you transmit electricity via wire, you only "use" power if you turn on the appliance. When you "beam" energy, it is gone whether or not something is making use of the energy on the other end. You might be able to have some sort of directional system that only turns on when needed, but then if you wanted to move the object that is receiving power, you'd need some sort of automated tracking system with the transmitter continually redirecting power to the moving appliance. And if you don't need to move the object receiving power, why not just hook up a cord and save yourself the extra expense? Also, the process of converting regulated electricity into RF and back is enormously wasteful to say nothing of the power lost over the transmission distance. And like I said before, it's very dangerous to transmit large amounts of power this way. You'd have to think of an application where "beaming" energy is better than our current "plug in and recharge" model (like your bluetooth headset / laptop computer for example). You'd want an application that needs very little power, and is fairly close to the power source. One practical application I know of is RFID tags. They are little microchips that are powered by RF energy. They are used to store information that can be retrieved when the RF-transmitting "reader" asks for it. I suppose solar powered calculators (and any other solar powered device for that matter) are technically another example. Power is "beamed" from the light source to your calculator.

Question : What do you want in a kids' electric toothbrush?
In terms of power, batteries, weight, cost, charging station, maintanence cost, a little cartoon character on it...etc.

Answer:
I dont want an ordinary toothbrush with the straight-flat edge, more like the flexible version and reach in all places. Rechargeable batteries, minty flavor toothbrush, a free sample of recommended toothpaste when it is sold, the toothbrush doesn't become that over-worn.

Question : Do you think I'm entitled to a refund on a battery powered toothbrush I bought from Tesco?
I bought one and in order for it to function, I had to open the bottom of the toothbrush (to insert the batteries which were included) with a coin. I and my mum tried every which way we could to get the damn thing open and I nearly dislocated my thumb! I decided to take it back to Customer Service at Tesco and asked them for a refund. I got no reply and she disappeared out the back and I noticed she managed to get it open herself with a coin. I said,"Well, can you close it now and do it again, to make sure". However, whilst she was doing so, the head of the brush touched the dirty desk and phone and I said, "Well, I can't use it now, it’s touched everything”. She said, “But there’s nothing wrong with it”. So, I was left without a refund. What do you think?

Answer:
Stupidity runs rampant in the world today. It’s clear by the responses who the idiots were that gave you thumbs down, Jus Curiuos (who can’t spell), susie x, and Medium Dave. These idiots probably work in customer service too. The very term customer service is to ensure a satisfied customer and a repeat customer.
