great device
I tried the cordless type twice before and both quit after about 3 months use. Waterpik did send a free replacement after the first one quit, but I decided to go with the cord type this time and have been very pleased. Get the same or better results. My dentist is pleased.

not bad
not bad but you still need to floss, also you need to empty the water every time you use it otherwise it will leak

Using the Watepik Ultra Dental Water Jet
Quite pleased with the appearance and operation of the Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet. It functions well without being messy and is easily kept clean and stores all parts well. A great tool for keeping your mouth and teeth fresh and clean after eating and morning and bedtime.

Great for dental hygiene.
I recently had braces put on and my Sonicare toothbrush just wasn't doing a thorough cleaning job. At the recommendation of my dentist I added the Waterpik to my cleaning regiment. It has made a tremendous difference. My teeth are spotless and my gums are back in shape. It removes food particles that you don't even know you had. I would recommend this to anybody and espcially those who have crowns, bridges or braces. The one slight manufacturing design flaw I found is the water cord to the handle is on the short side. This becomes an issue if you are right handed and the unit has to be plugged into the left side of your vanity.

Water Pik Ultra
Very satisfied with this product. We like the way everything stores in the cover. the unit doesn't take up a lot of room on the sink. Some of the accessories like the tongue cleaner and the dental pik were tried a quickly discarded as junk. would have liked more jet tips.

| Editorial Review :
The Oral Irrigator is small but powerful. At 1,600 pulses per minute, it cleans debris between teeth and massages gumlines for healthy gums. A great tool for cleaning braces. Great for travel or a quick cleaning between meals. The Oral Irrigator folds down to the size of a coffee cup. There are no awkward cords or cumbersome tanks to worry about. The Oral Irrigator has a large water tank capacity allowing for longer periods of use at home or while traveling.
Customer Review :
Simply the Best!
I love the Panasonic Portable Oral Irrigator so much that I purchased this one as a backup in case something happens to the one I am curently using. I love how it leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean, and I know I am doing something really, really good for my teeth and gums. I rate the oral irrigator as 5 stars!
Rating :
Compact but powerful
I am very happy with this unit. Last about a month on 2 AA batteries and compact enough to travel anywhere. Powerful and effective. My dentist thought he saw an improvement when I mentioned that I started using it.
There are downsides. One, the small size means you have to refill a few times per session. Two, as it drains, the partial vacuum sometimes pulls the tank up into the main unit. Just a bit uncomfortable, but doesn't cause any problems in functioning so I still give it a "5".
Rating :
Excellent for what it is
This is an excellent oral irrigator for travel. It is not as powerful or versatile as an OralBreeze or corded WaterPik, which would be the first choice to keep in your bathroom at home. But my gums suffer if I travel for very long without my irrigator, and this is a perfect choice for travel. Works just fine: pressure is adequate, tank size is sufficient, collapses to a compact size.

died after a couple of months
it worked ok when it worked I guess, but even then the only way to know I was getting full power was to use a fresh set of batteries every day. Plus it died completely after a couple of months. Standard rechargeable batteries seem like a good idea but the charge and performance is so variable and unreliable that for anything more demanding than a remote control for your TV you are better off with a cord. Where that is impossible, such as a digital camera, go with a camera with a custom polymer battery. Since the product won't work without it they have to make it somewhat decent. For something like this irrigator at least if it doesn't work with a cord you will know that it is the device and not the batteries.
Rating :
Better Than Nothing
Not much water. Difficlult to navigate in my mouth. Water Pic is much better but Water Pic's quality has declined a lot over the years and they don't offer much repair on many units.

Customer Review :
Was good while it worked
It worked well for the first 6 months or so. Then, water stopped coming out of it. I opened it to take a look at what the problem is and found that one of the plastic parts has warn down. This has only been used for about 6 month and that tells you how poor quality the parts used are.

One has worked for years; the other lasted three weeks
My dentist talked me into getting braces in my 40s, and I can't imagine surviving through orthodontics without a Waterpik -- there is no other way to do what these machines do.
Having said that, Waterpik's quality control is dreadful. I have a personal model at home, and -- I am not making this up -- I had to send it back for replacement twice in the first week of operation. The woman in customer service actually said "Well, maybe the third time will be a charm", and in fact I have had no further trouble with that unit in three years.
I own two WP-360W Waterpiks, one that I bought two years ago (and still going strong), and one that I bought on vacation last month. I used the new unit without incident for three weeks, and then it suddenly stopped operating. There was no transition period during which it worked intermittently or slowly; it abruptly stopped working, and as soon as I finish writing this review, I am going to throw it away.
When it works, the WP-360W is a great product. Sure, it is noisy, and sometimes the tip pops off and spatters you with water because the designers located the "eject" button for the tip right next to the "on" button. But it does a good job, and it's a "must" if you wear braces and like to travel.
I would strongly encourage you to keep your receipt for any Waterpik product you buy, because -- if my experience is typical -- you are likely to encounter quality problems. It's really a shame that their manufacturing QA mars what would otherwise be an excellent product.

Bad mistake
My first unit died after a few weeks, and I make a bad mistake thinking it was a fluke and bought a second one for an upcome trip I was taking. The second one died after barely two weeks of use. These units are poorly and cheaply made. Customers are badly dupped into thinking they can rely on this product because its sold in major US drug stores.

Great for what it is...Small and Portable!
I bought this just prior to getting braces. I am in my 30's so I know what I need to do to keep my braces clean and was looking for something that wasn't bulky but would work well. After promptly breaking the high power tip because I didn't read directions I figured out how to use it properly with the low power. It fishes all the gunk out and helps my mouth feel cleaner as well as clean out the braces so that they continue to dig into my cheeks and tongue. I have now broken the low power tip and just ordered replacements (cheaper on Amazon even with shipping than at the waterpik store) and I miss using it already. Yes I have to refill it, but it's portable - isn't the point of being cordless/portable making it small enough to carry around? I took it on vacation and it lasted all week with no recharge. I (knock on wood) have not had any issue with the battery and no, I don't drain it all the way first.

The new aerator you receive stays on your faucet and the QuickBreeze valve snaps on and off. Its Breeze n Store design means you can breeze when you want and quickly store your QuickBreeze when youre done. You will NOT need tools to install this product. You may need pliers to remove your old aerator.
Customer Review :
Excellent Oral Irrigator
Excellent product with ease of use. Just temporaly attach it to your faucet at your bathroom sink and you are good to go. When you are finished remove and store for next use. It took me about one minute to install. Received the product in the time specified by the distributor and also additional information regarding dental hygiene.

Wonderful!!! Really worth it
I just got my quickBreeze dental irrigator and i love it. It's easy to install and really work. My teeth doesn't have to much space between each other but i feel and see them as clean as if I had used the floss. Of course for the teeth on the back of the mouth that doesn't have space at all you will need the floss... but the quickbreeze really do a wonderful job.

Ingenious invention!
OralBreeze is an excellent product. Works great, well-made, and is very easy to use, once I figured out the instructions. Perhaps the instructions should be reworded for easier comprehension; or maybe I'm just a dim bulb. The only thing I would recommend would be to first wrap faucet threads (if attaching the OralBreeze to the outside of the faucet) with Teflon tape. Voila! Perfect.

Love it!
I am a long-time WaterPik user, but I wish I had known about this years ago. No cord, no space on counter, easy to snap on the faucet. I use it much more than I did the WaterPik because it is so much less hassle. And of course much more adjustable because you adjust the temperature and pressure at the faucet.

Thank you, other reviewers, for persuading me!
As an inveterate Water Pik user, I was reluctant to change brands. Here was this product I had never heard of that takes a different approach altogether. Without the customer raves, I would have passed it up. But, thanks to the positive reviews, I took a chance, and am glad I did. One caveat: If you have kids, don't buy this unless you're sure you can keep them from playing with it. If you turn the water on full, it creates a fire-hose-strength stream that could injure an eye. But for adults--what a product! As a travel irrigator, it takes almost no room in a suitcase and can be attached to a hotel spigot in about a minute.

Very poor
Just a quick review to reinforce what's been said by many others. Compared to the old Waterpiks I've had for years (and for which I can no longer get parts -- hoses are the weak spot -- otherwise I'd gladly repair them; I could go on at length about our throw-it-away society, but I'll spare you), this is a vastly inferior product. As others have noted, the water pressure is very weak, and the reservoir doesn't hold enough water to clean your teeth properly. Save your money.

great product
this is a great product and i have nothing but raves about it. My wife and i both use it up to three times a day. And for all those who it doesn't have enough pressure-what kind of gums do you have. If we turn it up to three it hurts our gum. It works very well and i'm not trying to sand blast my mouth. The only drawback is the small cup size- i believe it only hold s about 10-12 ozs. needs to have a bigger resevoir. Other than that this is a great product. I'm to going to buy a couple more for our sons to use at their homes.

Interplak tooth irrigator (oral water jet)
I was disappointed to discover this model is a little too gentle for me. Even at the highest setting it is gentle. Lots of water comes out (good irrigation) but it is more of a stream than a pulse. The last time I owned this model it gave strong pulses. This latest model makes me wish I had purchased a "WaterPik" instead (though my last Waterpik was hard to control which way it squirted!
It remains a good value and is easy to use.

Question : How much pressure should i be using when i brush my teeth?
Pressure form the toothbrush. I have one of those battery powered ones.
Answer:
you do not want to bend the bristles.
pretend you are brushing an overripe tomato.
the harder you press, the less effective the tooth brush becomes.

Question : Sonicare Toothbrush????
I am currently using an Oral-B Vitality Sonic toothbrush that i bought for 20 bucks at Target. Is this good enough for periodontal gum recession or would a sonicare toothbrush be better? If so, which Sonicare toothbrush (there are many)? Also, how would it be better?
this is a link to my current toothbrush
http://www.oralbprofessional.com/us/products/power/powvitalitysonic.asp
Answer:
I prefer the Oral-B Triumph over the Sonicare. It just works better for me. The Vitality is good as long as you brush often enough. And with periodontal issues you must must must floss at least once a day.

Question : Have any of you ladies felt the vibrating power of the Oral-B Pulsar Toothbrush yet?
That baby does things no other vibrator can do.
Answer:
That's why my girlfriend has one under her pillow.

Question : Could a battery powered toothbrush start a fire?
If it was left on when you left the house to drain the battery...is there a possibility it could spark or something and start a fire??
The insert that came with the toothbrush says to drain the batter once a month and recharge from scratch to keep it working better. I have no idea how that helps, but thanks for the help! My mind is now more at ease! I get paranoid about these things!! :-)
Answer:
No. The maximum energy output by the battery (usually AA's)
could not generate enough heat to even start melting the plastic handle. I have never seen or heard of one being able to spark. You'd need a lot more electricity to do that.

Question : Is it normal to lose some sensation in your teeth for a few mins after using a power toothbrush?
Is it normal to lose some sensation in your teeth for a few mins after using a power toothbrush?
Answer:
Yup! I bought a very fast rotating toothbrush, a sonicare, and it tickled and my tooth was so not used to it it took a little while to adapt!
Good Luck!

Question : Toothbrush for Braces??
I'm getting braces in about a week, I had the spacers put in yesterday. Will a battery powered toothbrush make it easier to brush my teeth? will it damage the brackets? what would you suggest?
Answer:
Hi! I'm a dentist & practicing Orthodentist as well. With regards with your problem on toothbrushes, I would suggest to try to talk to your dentist about it. Cause in my case, as an Ortho, I'm providing a toothbrushes for my patients with braces. It's a special toothbrushes that has a curve area in the middle of the toothbrush so as to fill up the spaces that your braces will occupy when you will be brushing. I see to it that I also provide a interdental brushes too to my patients to make it easier for them to maintain good oral health.
I guess when you'll be asking your ortho he will provide you more info about it just the way I'm providing infos & as well as toothbrushes & interdental brushes for my ortho patients too..
By the way Oral B & Colgate has also braces toothbrushes that's available in the drugstores or markets too..
Though battery operated brushes can help you maintained a good health, It's still important to have a specific tool for a specific instances..
Hope this can help you alot..

Question : DENTISTS, what power toothbrush do you reccomend for the whole family?
DENTISTS, what power toothbrush do you reccomend for the whole family?
Answer:
I recommend an Oral B rechargeable electric toothbrush.
If no-one has braces or is planning to get braces, the rotating brush head works well. You can purchase ones that have two handles and one charging dock. Get extra heads and they come with colours so each person has their own toothbrush head. If anyone has braces, oral B also do a Sonic toothbrush which actually vibrates rather than oscillating. Its great for everyone too and works better with the braces.
See their website for more info!
