New plaque magnet hyG electronic toothbrush cleans deposits from areas even electric toothbrushes cannot reach!
User reports and clinical tests have shown again and again that this revolutionary plaque magnet brush can remove plaque that even the big motorized brushes cannot it is no wonder over 20 million are in use in Europe and Asia! Now it is here in the USA and at a price affordable to anyone! The hyG brush contains an ionizing system powered by a Sony lithium battery. When you turn it on, the brush assumes a negative polarity with two results: 1. It reverses the polarity that holds plaque to tooth surfaces 2. The positive plaque particles are then drawn to the negative brush like a magnet even from areas where the bristles cannot actually reach! By removing plaque from hidden gum line areas you reduce buildups that cause gum disease! The hyG system includes electronic handle. 5 interchangeable brush heads, battery tester (lights to show system is working) and travel cap.

suggestion
This device is a good idea. I bought a set to try it out. I received it yesterday. The handle does accept a wide variety of toothbrushes and holds them stably in place. The grip feels comfortable. The power is turned on by squeezing the handle itself to make the electrical contact. It is turned off by releasing it. This makes it hard for smaller children with weaker grips, and somewhat inconvenient for adults. I improvised by placing a rubber band on the grip, then squeezing it and sliding the rubber band forward to keep it squeezed down. I think this device is a great idea, if the next generation would have a button to turn the power on and off. As for how well it cleans the teeth, I think it will do a good job, once you get used to it.

Question : Sonicare Toothbrush????
I am currently using an Oral-B Vitality Sonic toothbrush that i bought for 20 bucks at Target. Is this good enough for periodontal gum recession or would a sonicare toothbrush be better? If so, which Sonicare toothbrush (there are many)? Also, how would it be better?
this is a link to my current toothbrush
http://www.oralbprofessional.com/us/products/power/powvitalitysonic.asp
Answer:
I prefer the Oral-B Triumph over the Sonicare. It just works better for me. The Vitality is good as long as you brush often enough. And with periodontal issues you must must must floss at least once a day.

Question : How to care for my bonded tooth?
In December 2006, in a sports accident I had my front tooth broken in half horizontally.- next day it was thankfully bonded back on. - you can obviously see the difference through the colour I was wondering how I should care for the tooth. When I look closely now I can see the line where The crack goes across. (-dont know if that was visible before, like if the bonding covered it or not since I didnt really check). I've had a custom mouthguard made for me for sports which I use during every sport now. I dont bite into ANYTHING with my front teeth (no sandwhiches, etc) I only eat foods I can cut and places directly past the tooth. I have been using a powered crest spinbrush toothbrush with an extra soft head and Colgate Total and Crest Pro-Health. How should i be caring for and maybe help the tooth heal itself? I've really been considering this and am probably getting it tomorrow... Colgate Luminous toothpaste. It is supposed to contain minerals to help restore tooth enamal! Opinions?
I think its "bonded," I dont knew exactly what they did but they re-attached the broken part of the tooth to the top part of the tooth which was still intact (dint know the name for what they did, but I heard something about bonding and they also mentioned they dont know how long it will hold, maybe forever maybe a very short time... confusing!!). Also, the texture is somewhat different on the portion of the re-attached tooth.
kind of going along with the first answer
... I actually found the piece that was broken off and they used THAT piece of the tooth and put that back on, not a composite, its the actual piece! I can tell because it has a certain small spot where its a bit discolored from before. And when I went in after that to take my impression for my mouthguard, the assistant that did the impression told me it could be like a broken bone and may take up to 6 months to heal. The dentist said that since Im still young and have good blood flow through my teeth it could heal or something. (When the piece was broken off, and was found and taken back home for the night, I kept it in milk to not dry it out or anything and they were actually able to use that piece even though the assistant almost laughed at us when we said we saved the tooth and said they cant do anything with it when we came in, but she ended up helping the dentist use that piece, I bet she felt dumb)
Answer:
Sorry to tell you, but a tooth cannot heal itself once it is broken. I broke my front tooth when I was 6. Unfortunetely I had to get a rootcanal, and then the broken part was 'bonded' back on. What they did to it, and most probably to yours, was put white filling called composite to replace the broken part. Unfortunetely, composite is hard to match to the tooths natural enamel color. It will always look slightly different. Another bad thing about composite is that with time it darkens, and cannot be bleached. You'll have to get the composite changed every few years to match with your other teeth or it will become very visible.
It's true that you have to be careful with it now. The tooth is now weakened and could break off if you eat a baguette, or bite into an apple...Your best bet would be to get a veneer. IThe best way I can describe it is that it's like a fake nail for your tooth. The dentist will prepare the tooth (pretty much shave off the front .5mm) and take an impression to later fit the veneer. It puts the strenth back; sort of. It will look much better and match better because it's made out of porceline. It will be shinny like your other teeth too. I don't know if you've noticed, but if you dry your broken tooth, it isn't shinny like the others but mat.
Down side to a veneer: It doesn't bleach either, so you have to take good care of the other teeth. You'll get the opposite effect here. One white tooth, and the others darker. The only other thing is that it could un-cement, but can be put back on. Just be careful with it, and avoid it if you can, but don't stress if you forget and eat a sandwich.

Question : Hi guys, what is the best powered toothbrush that one can get in the market?
I mean there are tons out in the market, but what do you reckon is the best to get currently. Something that would not only clean, but also help to sort of floss, clean between the teeth, dislodge plaque without damaging the teeth, and prevent plaque build up.
My doctor cousin recommended ORAL B SONIC COMPLETE, But when I checked the oral b website they have a latest model called Oral-B® Triumph™ ProfessionalCare™ 9000. Now I am tempted to go with the Triump Professionalcare. Have any of you used any of these models? What do you recommend based on your experience.
I am obsessed when it comes to my teeth. In fact my first cavity was a result of over flossing! and not eating sweets. Please help someone who acts like MONK when it comes to his teeth!
Answer:
I know exactly what you mean! I'm the same way about brushing and flossing. The Sonicare by Phillips is the one I've found to be the best. It last for years with out having to replace it, holds a full charge for a week making it great for taking it on vacations without having to take the base. It does an excellent job at cleaning the teeth by using an ultrasonic vibration that works with toothpaste and your saliva gently removing all debris in between and below the gum line. After using it, you really do feel like you just had your teeth professionally cleaned. I should know since I've used and recommended them for the past ten years and I am in dentistry.
